PowerShifter PS1 - Push Button Gear Shifter

The Power Shifter is the most compact of all the gear shifter systems available which can select gears both up and down the gearbox.  Neutral can be selected easily by momentarily pressing either the up or down buttons.  5 Times Fast Than a Human!!

The success of this innovative design is due to the control of the shifter action and its operating characteristics in being able to mimic the speed and  movement of the human foot/hand during it's shift cycle culminating in the perfect gearshift simulation.  The TLS-PS system comes with 2 weather proof tactile shift buttons that are suitable for mounting in 1/8" thick steering wheel spokes.  Each button has gold plated contacts to ensure only the cleanest shift signal.  These buttons can be removed and the button cables attached to an aftermarket paddle shift set-up also. 

NEW!  These latest Powershift systems now have faster repeating gearshifts resulting in successive gearshifts within 60ms! Our test showed the best rider we could find could only achieve 310ms.  (Note that once the Powershift is installed gears can only be selected manually as a `get you home' feature.  If you require full manual shifting after fitment contact us as there is an option for a non-standard shifter that maintains full manual gear shifting operation).  The new complimenting Powershift ECU incorporates a `built-in' adjustable quickshift/interrupt feature enabling full throttle gearshifts to be executed on single cylinder engines (may not be suitable for all single cylinder applications).

When these Powershift systems are combined with the AST IntellishiftTM Quickshifter ECU, PS-QSECU, full throttle upshifts without the use of the clutch are possible, also there is an auto-upshift feature which enables upshifts to be carried out automatically at a user defined RPM for those essential drags starts and straightaways.  (the clutch must be used for downshifts).  The optional Remote Shiftlight TLS-RS can be added when the AST IntellishiftTM Quickshifter ECU PS-QSECU is incorporated with the Powershift system.
 
General information
This Powershift system is electro-mechanical and therefore does not require any compressed air bottles or hoses like an air shifter system.  The unique shifter is a linear actuator design (not solenoid) incorporating a DC motor, spinning up at 25,000 RPM, planetary gearbox, lead screw arrangement and operates on a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) drive system for total control and longevity.

The Powershift ECU requires a single ignition-on wire to be attached to a suitable ignition-on supply, like a head light or brake light +12volt supply wire.    There are 2 ring terminal wires, battery positive and battery negative, that are simply placed on the battery terminals.  The Micro Logic control unit is mounted in a protected position on the vehicle.  The Powershift shifter is mounted between the gear lever and a fixed point either on the engine or on the chassis.
